I guess this is my post-modern poem.

I get post-modernism. I get pastiche and playfully restitching together time and place. It was part of my education. I both learned it as theory and as arts practice.

How pretentious is that? Probably a bunch.

But the real question is which came first: pastiche or playfulness?

My four-year-old boy can tell you the answer. It's playfulness. He don't know squat about po-mo, pastiche, or theory. But he knows play and he does crazy things all the time with language.

Play play play.
